No remote data found. Upload local to Remote?

Open wjadevries opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

On browsers (on my iPad and Samsung phone) I regularly get the message:

No remote data found. Upload local to Remote?

I use Google drive for syncing, and it worked a while (since installing on 3 devices this afternoon) but now I get this message every time I open the web page. I don't want to upload local, because my pc has synced the last time. what's wrong?

Thank you very much for opening up this issue! I am currently a bit overwhelmed by the many requests that arrive each week, so please forgive me, if I fail to respond personally. I am still very likely to at least skim read your request and I'll probably try to fix all (real) bugs if possible and I will likely review every single PR being made (please, give me a heads up if you intent to do so) and I will try to work on popular requests (please upvote via thumbs up on the original issue) whenever possible, but trying to respond to every single issue over the last years has been kind of draining and I need to adjust my approach for this project to remain fun for me and to make any progress with actually coding new stuff. Thanks for your understanding!

I get the same notification after waking my computer from suspend. I guess this is because the application cannot connect to webdav because it takes 10-30 seconds for the computer to connect to the internet after waking up from sleep.

Same here. Attempting to save to local file. Is there a specific file format to be used, for local sync? Any specific permissions on file (or dir)? Specific group ownership of resource?

Didn't have time to post screen shot or other info.

Here's what I s when app is first opened.

Here's what I see when attempting sync.

Don't let the ../github.com/.. path throw you off, I'm attempting to sync locally.

The settings in the app are a bit confusing as to how to set the local sync file (or directory?) The description, below the entry field, indicates that "Absolute path to the file that should be used" will be created automatically. I'm assuming that means the file will get created? Or does this mean the directory will get created? Is it supposed to be extension-less? Or something standard like .json???

I set permissions on the folder to wide open (777) and still couldn't get a successful sync.

For context: Running on macOS (installed through AppStore)

@bencodesall you need to specify a file path rather than a folder. I understand that this is a bit confusing and that we should improve on that.

I am closing this since the original issue is about google drive, which is not supported any more.
