Arrow up and down when creating new task

Open papernoise opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

Problem Statement / Possible Solution

A little enhancement idea on an existing feature, so I don't think this requires too much explanation. I quite like that one can choose if the new task should be created on top or on the bottom of the list. I use it quite often. To be more specific I mean this one: image

To make this even more useful, I suggest that the up and down arrows on the keyboard be used to toggle between the aforementioned settings. Of course up would be used to set to "add task on top" and down would set it to "add task on the bottom". Bonus points for making this user-configurable in the settings.

Thank you very much for opening up this issue! I am currently a bit overwhelmed by the many requests that arrive each week, so please forgive me, if I fail to respond personally. I am still very likely to at least skim read your request and I'll probably try to fix all (real) bugs if possible and I will likely review every single PR being made (please, give me a heads up if you intent to do so) and I will try to work on popular requests (please upvote via thumbs up on the original issue) whenever possible, but trying to respond to every single issue over the last years has been kind of draining and I need to adjust my approach for this project to remain fun for me and to make any progress with actually coding new stuff. Thanks for your understanding!

Thanks for the suggestion. The up and down arrow keys are already used for selecting already existing tasks and issue tasks, so I'd rather not put more functions on them. You can currently change this by using Ctrl+2 (and Ctrl+1 for toggling add to backlog/today).
