Not letting me export?
Just created a font, but I can't export it because it "doesn't fall under the SIL Open Font License". I don't understand how that could be since I.. just created it. But maybe I'm missing something dumb ^^'
Hi. I can update the copyright info to be SIL OFL if you send the font to me. Email is OK if you don't want to add it here Cheers Johan
Hi! That'd be great.
Here is the font.
Thanks, Nokocchi
PS. I'm not sure if this is something you'll be able to help with, but when I put the font into a program (such as RPG Maker) for some reason, despite symbols such as é, ♂ and ♀ being defined in the font, they don't appear, and the font is all warped and blurry. Again, not sure if this is something under your jurisdiction, just thought I'd ask ^^)

Hi. It looks like the font didn't make its way through. Can you email it to me? [email protected] is my address. I haven't used RPG maker. Does this problem happen with other programs as well (like Chrome for instance)?
Hi, I have the same problem with a typeface I've done myself from scratch, I was able to export it before but now I get a „This font is not under the SIL Open Font Licence, you need the commercial version [etc].“ I want it to be SIL licenced (though I don't mind paying for the commercial version). This is super weird.
I've worked on this on Windows and Linux, might this be causing the issue?
Please send me the font. I will double check the license and update the font or software if needed. Cheers
Nice work!
I updated the the license fields in your font. No license was set in the font but I am not sure why that happen. Please let me know if you find a way to reproduce the problem,
Looks like it works, thanks so much!
So to fix it it was enough to put
„SIL Open Font License“
into the Copyright and License (plus „http://scripts.sil.org/OFL“ in to the License URL) fields? in the Name and Description settings of the font? I thought about that but wasn't sure about the wording.
Thanks again ^__^
Yes, that is the trick.
Good to know ^__^
So after extensive searching this is the only thing on the internet I came across with the same issue as me. I have no idea how this happens or why. I cant even edit the lines that say License or anything. Any help would be appreciated. FFX Spira.zip
Hi. It looks like the font isn't released under SIL OFL? Is it your work? Should I update the license for you?
I FIGURED IT OUT! Alrighty so I'll explain what I did to fix it. The problem is that I started creating a font straight away as soon I downloaded Birdfont. So I created it on the first template it had which doesnt have the SIL lines filled out so it didnt have a license. Luckily I was saving my work as I went. So what I did was start a new font, and saved it as Practice. Then went to the folder where its stored and right clicked it to OPEN WITH, and opened it with Notepad. I found the part I needed and copied it. Then found the file I needed to have the license, opened with Notepad, copied over the existing (or non existent) license and saved it. Then I opened the file in Birdfont and was finally able to export it.
.
I hope this helps other people who mistakenly used the starter template to make a font instead of starting a new one. This was pissing me off lol.
Hi. You can email fonts to me if you want to relicense them. My address johan.mattsson.m at gmail.com
Thanks I will send you an email with a solution.
What is your email address?
@Otto-Quartim Hi! It might generally be very helpful for other people having the same problem writing how you solved a problem not just that you solved it. Thanks! ^__^
Well, i'm having trouble with this font Paper Cutout.zip It's not in open source license.
Hi. The font is not under the SIL OFL. Check if you can either relicense the font or use the commercial version of Birdfont.
How can i relicense the font? Also i can't edit the license of that font, Why?
I can do that but you need the permission from the creator.
You are the creator
No, the creator of the font. Is that you?
Yes I modified Arial
Nice. What is you email address?
