The pull request with support for this enhancement has now been merged and the new feature should be available within the beta release shortly (after a few minutes)

@gruizdev would you be able to resolve the conflicts or need some help with this? There are more PRs that target this control and ideally we would merge them in...

@GuidoZam many thanks for the improvements. I reviewed it and all seems fine, but I will consider waiting for #1726 to avoid conflicts. If the other PR doesn't move forward...
