Swiping to scroll opens submenu

I have a large menu so it needs to scroll on mobile. When starting a touch event to swipe, it opens the menu that I click on to start the swipe. Is there a way to prevent this? Practically all the menus have subs, so it's impossible to swipe without losing your place.
