Black screen while bypassing Rx5700 XT to OpenCore Hackintosh
I tried to pass the issue for 4 hours and I don't have anymore time to post logs, so I will put only message here.
What I did is configure your scripts, pass custom IDs to bind/unbind (also disable amdgpu), configure virt manager, use custom OVMF for macOS/OpenCore.
It kills Sway fine, then it goes to blackscreen, but never returns from it, so I assume something is wrong with getting GPU working. I go learn math, will be investigating this in next week.
This is my start script:
#!/bin/bash
# Helpful to read output when debugging
set -x
killall sway
# Unbind VTconsoles
echo 0 > /sys/class/vtconsole/vtcon0/bind
echo 0 > /sys/class/vtconsole/vtcon1/bind
# Unbind EFI-Framebuffer
echo efi-framebuffer.0 > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/efi-framebuffer/unbind
# Avoid a Race condition by waiting 2 seconds. This can be calibrated to be shorter or longer if required for your system
sleep 10
# Unload all AMD drivers
modprobe -r amdgpu
modprobe -r ipmi_devintf
modprobe -r ipmi_msghandler
# Unbind the GPU from display driver
virsh nodedev-detach pci_0000_28_00_0
virsh nodedev-detach pci_0000_28_00_1
# Load VFIO Kernel Module
modprobe vfio-pci
This is release script:
#!/bin/bash
set -x
# Unload VFIO-PCI Kernel Driver
modprobe -r vfio-pci
modprobe -r vfio_iommu_type1
modprobe -r vfio
# Re-Bind GPU to Nvidia Driver
virsh nodedev-reattach pci_0000_28_00_0
virsh nodedev-reattach pci_0000_28_00_1
# Rebind VT consoles
echo 1 > /sys/class/vtconsole/vtcon0/bind
#echo 1 > /sys/class/vtconsole/vtcon1/bind
nvidia-xconfig --query-gpu-info > /dev/null 2>&1
echo "efi-framebuffer.0" > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/efi-framebuffer/bind
modprobe amdgpu
modprobe ipmi_devintf
modprobe ipmi_msghandler
sway
My specs are r5-3600 CPU and rx5700XT GPU. Also, I will post my XML of virt-manager, maybe it will bring something useful:

Thanks for help in advance.
Having same problem as well, scripts are pretty similar, only difference is i'm using a Win 10 guest.
Are you guys aware of the AMD Reset Bug? If not a quick google search should bring it up. There recently was a patch that as i understand fixes it without needing to compile your own kernel.
try having at look at vendor reset that might fix it.. I have similar setup as above mentioned and will try playing with it the next few days.

Did you end up getting it working?
If memory serves me correctly, the VFIO PCI driver is actually vfio_pci not vfio-pci (underscore, not a dash)
