chore: update strict max version to `139.*`
Thunderbird 139.0 was released a month ago. This extension specifies a strict max version of 138.*, which prevents users on 139.* from installing it by making it inaccessible on the Thunderbird Add-ons site.
The update does not seem to interfere with the function of this extension, so this commit simply updates the max version to 139.* to ensure users can install it on the latest Thunderbird version.
Fixes #748
There is no CONTRIBUTING.md so apologies if this is not the correct way to contribute to this repo. Happy to be corrected.
@jobisoft this PR seems to resolve an issue a lot of people are facing. I am interested in the reasons for not merging it. Is there something missing?
Until this change is merged and an official release...released, instructions for the workaround can be found in this thread. It includes a copy of the files with the relevant change for those who don't know how to make the change themselves.
Perhaps this is the reason the PR is not getting any traction? issuecomment-2980477496
I recall reading somewhere that Thunderbird is getting native exchange support, but I haven't been able to work it out... So perhaps this repo will fade out to it's natural dead eventually.
And I have stopped udating Thuderbird beyond 139 for now (I'm using PortableApp).

I'm curious about the "try not to mention TbSync" comment in the thread you linked, but yeah I would consider this repo abandoned at this point.
Re: native exchange support, the feature is still in development with no ETA for full feature release. An experimental version is available in Daily and Beta builds, but the functionality is limited to email, which makes this extension still very necessary for some. (Source)
