Thunderbird doesn't associate invites and confirmations with the existing calendar entry
Your environment
TbSync version: 0.7.22 Thunderbird version:60.2.1
[ ] Yes, I have installed the latest available (beta) version from https://github.com/jobisoft/TbSync/releases and my issue is not yet fixed, I can still reproduce it.
Expected behavior
- After I accent a received invite, the invite in INBOX should not allow me to add it again.
- To correctly know that a confirmation in Sent items belongs to a item in the calendar.
Actual behavior
- After I accept an invite, I can accept it again and again, duplicating the entry in the calendar.
- Looking at a confirmation that I have sent (in Sent items), it has a warning that "This message contains a sent out event that is not in your calendar anymore"
Steps to reproduce
- Accept an invite multiple times
- Look at a confirmation in Sent items.
All that meeting stuff is not implemented correctly and i plan to tackle that in second half of 2019. Sorry.
Can you close this as I think this is already covered by one of the open issues at the EAS provider?
moving this to th EAS Provider.
Hi, is there any progress on this? As the EWS Provider plugin stops working with thunderbird > 60, I feel that many people in cooperate settings are lost. And invitations are a feature many rely on. I feel thunderbird is loosing ground here and many users will look out for other solutions due to the plugin-compatibility switch and suprisingly I see no official solution.
There was also discussions to bring the EWS plugin as a provider to TBSync... any news on this?
The situation is complex. I need to be funded to work on this. I just received a grant to work on a new provider for etesync which puts food on the table for half a year. This provider will have meeting support so I hope I can reuse code and knowedge gained working on that provider to fix the meeting issues for my EAS provider.
Regarding EWS - again - I need funding. My addons are free but someone has to fund the initial work (again about half a year of work). It might be, that the owl addon now has calendar support (but it is not free).
