Turn on automatically when the file opened is XML

This would be a great option, so I don't have to go to the plugins menu when I open a xml file. Also, if for an active tab, the extension is not xml, it would be nice to turn off automatically.

It is possible, but the feature needs design. To avoid impact the current behaviour, it is acceptable to have a configuration panel where you can enable/disable the features?
