Couldn't you just run the executable by typing `./input_pc_linux`? If not, try rebuilding it since Raspberry Pis are ARM based instead of x86. To do this, download the source code...
Does raspbian recognise it as a proper controller?

Do you have any other controllers you can try? Also, try using the controller wired via USB
Blurred backgrounds are in the latest release, which is pretty much a blurred colour gradient.
