global-fira-code-mode prevents Emacs from displaying images in image-mode

You're right; thanks for the issue. I'm not sure why this is, but it may be an upstream conflict between Emacs' builtin prettify-symbols-mode (which fira-code-mode uses) and image-mode. Or perhaps its a problem with certain characters fira-code-mode prettifies.

I'm not sure when I'll have time to look into this, but I'll see what I can do. If you run into any additional findings please post 👍🏼

I'm also affected by this: fira-code-mode breaks logo display in dashboard-mode.
