Not strictly security, but it's going to be required for HTTP/2.

Ah, one addendum specific to this one.. Go's crypto/tls library, currently, does not have ALPN support. Adding it would is a blocker for this one. Issue 6736 is the one to vote on for crypto/tls getting ALPN.
