Trying to use GUI app on OSX

Open ryanlaux opened this issue 9 years ago • 9 comments

Hi, I recently downloaded the GUI release for Mac and started it up, and it asked for the Mapquest api key, so I went ahead and generated one. When I paste in the key and click get started, the app hangs and doesn't load. Any ideas how to fix?

Thanks!

@ryanlaux does the app work to change dates on a photo without having the mapquest key or does it force you to add the mapquest key? I can't remember :)

Seems to be forcing the mapquest key at the moment !

@ryanlaux thanks for confirming. I'll leave this open but need to fix #143 before I can troubleshoot this. It's up next on my list of priorities for this repo.

No problem! I just came across the app today can't wait to really test it out since it looks really powerful !

@ryanlaux thanks. In the meantime you can try to use the command line commands if you feel comfortable in a terminal.

Are the GUI and command line interface completely independent of one another?

@sndrsk The GUI bundles all of the command line code using pyinstaller and it's contained in the .app bundle.

Any fix to this issue yet I've tried the app and has same problem and when using the command line it copies couple of photos then spits out an error.

@NEprod No fix for the GUI app. The command line should not have any errors. If you're seeing errors by using the command line then please open a new issue with the command and output.
