Emojis are displayed as black and white in the textarea i.e native emojies

Emojis are shown as black and white but I need to display them as shown in the emoji picker itself. Also some emojies show as boxes. I am using Ubuntu 16.04.

Same issue on Ubuntu 18 and Firefox - on Chrome they show up fine. Here are some solutions (maybe) https://askubuntu.com/questions/1029661/18-04-color-emoji-not-showing-up-at-all-in-chrome-only-partially-in-firefox
