Subfolder by Collection only? (not sub-collections)

Is there an option to organize the files in folders by Collection, but not sub-collections?

I have my files in multiple subcollections which is annoying when it asks which one the file should be in. I would like the option to only make 1 level of folders for collections, and not include nested sub-collections.

Up: this issue has been raised before and a pull request has been submitted by another user. Any idea if this will be solved soon?
