ZotFile errors cannot be resolved
I've migrated cloud storage and in the process lost my folder with Tablet files. No problem for me (they are all still in Zotero) but it confuses Zotfile, which started to generate loads of error messages (one for every missing file) every single time I click on the "Tablet Files" saved search. Here's what that looks like:
- The issue is not solved by removing and reinstalling ZotFile.
- The issue is not solved by disabling and then re-enabling the "Use Zotfile to send and get files" option
- The issue is not solved by deleting the _tablet tag, deleting the Tablet saved search, emptying the Trash, and syncing: reactivating the "Use ZotFile" option will make a new saved search and will allow interaction with new files, but ZotFile will still remember the old files and treat them as missing.
So: Is there a way to reset ZotFile so that it won't be looking for those old files anymore? Or is there a way to tell ZotFile to resolve or ignore errors so they won't keep coming back?
Try the dev version on GitHub. It has a setting called extensions.zotfile.tablet.showwarning
, which should allow you to suppress the warning messages. I didn't test it so let me know how it goes.
This issue remains with version 5.0.16, and setting the extensions.zotfile.tablet.showwarning
to false also does not suppress the messages.
I would actually like to use the table feature and the saved searches. @jlegewie is there any way to reset ZotFile to remove any record of the files on the tablet? Deleting the _tablet
tag does not do it.
Zotero 5.0.83 and ZotFile 5.0.16.
Chiming in that I have this issue too. I've tried all of the above and have set extensions.zotfile.tablet.showwarning
to false
and am still getting the errors. Many of the errors are on items that I no longer have in my Zotero library at all, so It's strange that they would be showing up in a saved search for the _tablet
tag. Any suggestions?
@mdingemanse seems like doing "Get from Tablet" helps with this issue. If the file is not found the item is removed from zotfile list.
Same problem here. In my case, I think it's caused by me using Zotfile on two machines. I think the sync is leaving some orphan records in Zotfile-specific tables maybe? Haven't found a good workaround yet, but will have a look at the DB and post if I can see anything.
