Hi, it seems that it's necessary to grab the probe before doing the AXIS_TWIST_COMPENSATION_CALIBRATE, can you confirm that's the case?

@jlas1

I haven't tried that my self but I believe I did see Sineos say that on Klipper discourse...Ahh found it.

I tried to setup axis-twist-compensation, however, the probe nor the z endstop stop the printhead from moving down. I think there is more work to be done than just attaching the probe...

Edit:

Okay, so after looking at clippers source, I figured it out:

klickys variable_safe_z does not override the safe-z-height used for axis_twist_compensation. To mitigate this, one can manually specify horizontal_move_z: <High number (eg. 50)> in the [axis_twist_compensation]-section

Afterward, I performed the axis-twist-calibration perfectly fine. When manually touching the nozzle to the bed, I detached the probe, and while the printer got back up to Z=50, i manually re-attached the klicky with my hands.

TL;DR:

  • specify horizontal_move_z: <High number (eg. 50)>in the [axis_twist_compensation]-section
  • attach probe before runnign the command
  • detach probe after probing
  • adjust-nozzle / confirm
  • attach probe

Also:

Users please don't comment anything out like in the linked thread(!)
