Could you please add information about license of this repository — is it allowed to copy, change and use the code in any purpose? It would be great to see any popular open source license.

If @jkulesza gives you the permission to do anything with the code, you are free to go. :)

Edit: Since the original source code, which was created by Alan Stern, who is a Linux Kernel developer, was posted on vger.kernel.org, one could assume, that it was published under the same license as the Linux kernel itself: GPL 2.0.

You could also send an e-mail to [email protected] and ask them, under which license they publish their e-mail threads. The same license is applied to the source code.
