Provide Recents in Pie+
I'm quite a fan of much of what Unlauncher does! It has become my go-to launcher. However, I have to leave my old launcher installed because Unlauncher doesn't provide Recents in Android Pie (and greater); so, if I uninstalled my other launcher, the Recents menu will stop working.
Is it far beyond the scope of unlauncher to provide this? If not, it would be amazing to be able to just have Unlauncher as my only launcher. ☺
Thank you for your work!
Hmm, I am not sure I know what you mean by "Recents menu". The Recents Screen (aka Overview screen, recent task list, or recent apps) should work fine with Unlauncher (unless somehow your setup has uncovered a latent bug).
But perhaps you are referring to a different functionality? If you could provide some more details (and/or screenshots) that would help us to determine if supporting it is within the scope of the project.
@jkuester, you can read more about it here. The way this demonstrates for me is that, when I'm in the Recents view, if I pull up, I see the stock launcher app drawer rather than the Unlauncher app drawer. Ideally, if Unlauncher provided this hook, then I would be able to completely uninstall the stock launcher (because I have root access), and leverage Unlauncher as my only launcher. ☺
I also encountered this after trying 2.0.0-beta.4.
I use LineageOS 18.1 (android 11) and it has it's own launcher called Trebuchet. It seems the recent apps functionality is integrated to the launcher itself.

So if I disabled Trebuchet, the recent apps willl be disabled too.
Is there any plans to implement Quickstep? Or is Unlauncher compatible with Quickswitch?
Worth mentioning that I never looked into Trebuchet to see how its recents view works. It might well be painful to support.
It's based on the AOSP launcher so it may be nearly identical to the stock Android launcher.

I've been looking for this "recent task list" menu in unlauncher, but I can't find it. Where is it hidden? How do I start this functionality?
@hboetes Currently there is no specific functionality in Unlauncher for displaying the recently launched apps! (That is part of that this ticket is for...)
