Feature Request: Quality Banner

Open ados8 opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

A quality banner in the top left to replace the 4K mini option if its not wanted. You could make an option for top right for people wanting best of both worlds.

You could have a number scheme say 1-5 whereby 5 is the highest quality. The script would determine it based on the bitrate and in the config the user specifies what they determine is the quality values.

e.g. 1: 2Mbps, 2: 3Mbps, 3: 4Mbps, 4: 10Mbps and 5: 20Mbps I thought of resolution but thats not accurate as bitrate is the real determined quality.

This means you can easily see what content is the better theater experience.

I think it would make more sense if we could make it 4k, FullHD, HD, SD,....

that information is there when you go into the movie, or context menu and more info. If this is going to happen, it would be optional I assume? I wouldn't use it personally.

@KrunchMuffin - Personally I wouldn't find it too useful either as all my films that aren't 4k are 1080p.

But If I get round to adding it it would indeed be optional.

Hi guys and gal's, I have unintentionally requested an unpopular feature it seems. The idea was mainly for content where it's new and commonly lower quality before getting upgraded. Feel free to bin the idea. 👍

@ados8 It's ok, I was having trouble think about why it would be useful.

But I could always make a smaller or more discrete banner for other content that could be enabled.
