Feature suggestions: Provide ability to compare patterns in a grid view

Sometimes it's nice to directly compare patterns side-by-side, as in Selection View. The idea here is to provide a way to temporarily insert patterns into a Selection View-like grid. Size would vary according to the number selected to compare. (From Alan W.)

A possible UI would be to drag-and-drop animation windows into/out of a comparison panel -- like how web browsers allow one to drag a browser tab out into a separate window, and vice versa.
