No HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HP...

Hi

I'd like to know whether this solution is still working or not.

I got an Omen 15.

Before installing HP System Event Utility I checked there was a "HP System Event Utility" proccess, then I looked for the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HP... in registry but it did't exist..

I installed a new "HP System Event Utility" from http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81001-81500/sp81404.exe but the registry entry still doesn't exist.

I'd thank any idea.

Regards Carlos

It has not broken yet as far as I know. Do you have the file C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP System Event\HPMSGSVC.exe installed? There should be 2 processes HPMSGSVC.exe and HPWMISVC.exe.

One thing to note is that sp81404.exe only extract the setup file, and you also need to start the setup "C:\SWSetup\SP81404\HPSystemEventUtility.msi".

I download and executed sp81404, then it installs something and a CMD windows appears telling : "ERROR: El sistema no ha podido encontrar la clave o el valor del Registro especificados."

Translated like "Error: System was not able to find the specified key or value in registry"

If I execute HPSystemEventUtility.msi, I get a notification asking if I want to remove or repair... so, it has already installed.

I can tell that...

  • There is no HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HP

  • There is no entries witn "Bezel" text.

  • The batch installation probram tried to delete HKCU\Software\Hewlett-Packard\HP System Event

EDIT:

After restart, appears a new entry

Equipo\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HP\Theme Control

There is nothing else in Equipo\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HP
