Ask save destination before downloading

I'm often download something really big - decades of GB. My ssd is really small, and don't want to waste it life. But multithreaded-download-manager download it on system drive inside system and after ask where save ready file. Can I change this behaviour? I want to download on my external ssh at first directly.
