What does "<M-e>" mean?

Sorry for this noob question, but I don't understand what "<M-e>" means. Could someone please explain? Thanks!

I think this could be a nice addition to the README. I use Vim on a daily basis but I didn't know <M-Key> was used as <A-Key>. I had to find this information in the issues to be able to use the plugin.
