Couple of suggestions, coming from OneNote
I don't want to spam the issues, so I pack into one, you can eventually split/ignore them accordingly. Anyway I'm coming from Microsoft OneNote, so I am pretty much peasant user. For a few months old application you nailed lot of things I love:
- [x] Markdown
- [x] Tag organization
- [x] Portability, so basically sync with any cloud solution
Here are couple of things your application might benefit from:
- Live preview pane of formatted text from markdown, maybe split pane like laverna.cc
- Search across notes/tags with preview (similar to OneNote). Maybe fuzzysearch? To my understanding you can currently only search inside of the note. Search is one of those things microsoft nailed in OneNote when it comes to usability. Not sure how hard it would be to implement in sqink.
- Multiple photos, copy paste photos, copy paste rich text?
- Easy rich media embedding - for example auto converting youtube links to embedded format
- Blank/customizable note background
- Sub-tags, or multiple notebooks. Coming from OneNote, I'm used to multiple hierarchies, allowing to organize bigger volume of information. There are notebooks, sections and pages, while you have only tags. I think it is possible to have everything in one tree, similar to workflowy.
- Colorful notes. Yeah, that is some of that OneNote peasantry. But to be fair, color coding helps organization.
Thanks for consideration, I would understand if you want to keep it spartan, but the sheer amount of notes I produce make me fear if sqink can accommodate it within current structure. Have a nice day!
