This needs love, but is an interesting idea and the ldap commands don't change very often so it likely all still works.. Something like it prove useful with ensuring an extensible OpenLDAP module that supports the wide array of config options that OpenLDAP does.

Actually, yes. A certain @jameswhite has been working behind the scenes on this, along with a slew of other features. They are just about done, and I'll be porting them in when stable. Maybe ~1 month?
