Random 'Drop' support failures

Sometime (when the app is in background for a long time) the status item does not recognize drops anymore. When the item is clicked then, the status item will recognize them again.

@colinyoung nope, it seems pretty badly broken with Mavericks too, switching active desktops on dual display setups seems to trigger this.
