Trojan Horse
Hi, I'm a ScratchJr teacher. One of my student's parent highlighted to me that when she tried to download the ScratchJr Desktop version, her anti-virus prompted her that the file contains a Trojan Horse. Hope you can look into that. Thank you.
Hi there! Sounds scary - AntiVirus was probably on Windows I'm assuming? The installer is unsigned, so you may get smart screen warnings about installing it. It would be good to know the brand of AntiVirus next time you have a chance to chat to them?

Hi,
That parent is using 360.

Jacqueline

For several reasons, I would probably recommend Windows Defender over 360? It comes from Microsoft and is the recommended AntiVirus for the platform... If they insist on an AntiVirus other than the built in one, maybe AVG would be a better bet.
Hope this helps! JFo
Hi,
That was not the anti-virus on my computer. It is the one used by a parent who detected the Trojan Horse and so they decided not to install the app.

Jacqueline

No worries. I can see why they did that. If you get a chance to talk to them about it, they should probably check to make sure they don't have any funny chrome extensions, etc running on their machine. When you do an incognito window all your chrome extensions turn off. I would also switch to a more reliable brand of antivirus.
Hope this helps! JFo
Sure. Thanks for your reply.
