Crashes on load

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Loading the program with bluetooth off causes it to prompt to turn on 
bluetooth before getting error message while haveing it on causes the error 
message to appear immeditly on load

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Instead of loading, the program produces the error message "The application NXT 
Remote Control (process org.jfedor.nxtremotecontol) has stopped unexpectedly. 
Please try again" with the option to force close program

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Program version 1.3, Android version 2.3.4

Please provide any additional information below.
Tried various combinations of installing, rebooting and reinstalling and 
program did work previously

same issue on Samsung Galaxy SII,
but able to connect if Bluetooth already start before running program.
