Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I'm always frustrated when I see a list of volumes, named or unnamed, but I don't know what are its contents.

I'd love such a feature as well

That would be awesome. Does anybody know if this is possible via the docker api?

docker volume inspect <volume> will give you a mountpoint of the volume so it can be listed as an ordinary folder.

But I don't think that'll work with macOS or Windows since they're using a fully fledged VM under the hood.

EDIT: But I'm guessing that sorta kinda goes beyond "via the docker api".

+1 for this feature. Even if for technical reasons it can't be made to work 100% of the time on 100% of the supported platforms, it would still help a lot of people.

There is another issue open that requests a feature where files can be copied in and out of containers. There is some relation to the current issue here, where it would be helpful to be able to copy files to and from a volume.
