Why is `api.simplisafe.com` blocked?

I use SimpliSafe for my alarm system and I'm curious where they have been seen using that endpoint for tracking. I added a temporary allow so that my mobile device can still communicate with it. I'm not asking to have it removed either just curious how it ended up on the list.
