[BUG] highlighter remove space between two cylables words

hi, check out this link. there's a problem here when I highlight a two-syllable word like chronic liver it removes the white space between each syllable.

I believe I have found the issue causing this, it should be resolved for any new highlights after v5 is merged and released (no set date yet)
