Can't dig soup pot with water in

Open EmeraldMT opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Multiplayer server.

Unable to dig prepared soup pot (had a water pot emptied into it). After adding ingredients, making soup and removing the soup, I was then able to dig the pot and relocate it.

Is it intended that a prepared soup pot (with empty inventory) can't be moved?

I had players complain that they had accidentally dug their newly prepped soup pot, destroying the water inside, so I disabled that. For early players, having enough water can be difficult, and spilling it (more like vaporizing it, I guess) is a bit cruel. It's intended to big a big, heavy pot that's best moved while empty. I could make it so you can remove the water by clicking on it with an empty water pot/bottle, so then you can move it without losing the water. OTOH, if I go with DanS' suggestion that the soup be made non-transportable (so players must gather around the giant soup pot to add ingredients, and then share the result) it would be weird if you could move the water to a pot and stow it in your inventory, but not the soup. It would kind of call attention to the limitation. So I'm unsure whether to do that or not.

The cooking pot is undestroyable this way. I tried right clicking it with an empty clay water pot to drain the freshwater and turn it into a normal cooking pot, but this would not work.

If you have no idea what you are doing, like me, and place it somewhere inconvenient (so you can't place a fire underneath) and just experiment, you may lose an entire soup pot since it can not be moved anymore.
