Support for PATCH and updated to extension manifest_version 2

Added support for the PATCH HTTP method. Updated extension files according to Google's recommendation (otherwise the extension will be "killed" during 2013).

Hmm...this patch needs to be pulled in and new extension published to the Web Store ASAP. Is that why I can't search it on web store now? But still can access & install if have the URL.
