Featuere Request: hapCharacteristic.on('set', ...) blocking until value set confirmed

Would it be possible to make the setting function blocking until the value set is confirmed? E.g. you have a switch setting a state to true (or false...). Normally it's set unconfirmed. If the setting function is now blocking until the value is confirmed (with a timeout) it would should that little circular indicator showing that stuff is happening but did not happen yet.
