  1. Clarify when there is no specified installation
  2. Report requested and available installations
  3. Clarify when path is not found on node
  4. Try to show the user the invalid installation in the ui

This is totally untested (I'm hoping there's a bot somewhere). It's just a rough outline of some of the things that I'd hope could be done.

That would have been useful, otherwise it's troubleshooting with bash commands.
