I just wanted to confirm that I would need to mention the text "On old launch experience" as a small note at the end of the section "Launching an Amazon EC2 instance".

Am I going in right direction?

I think the preference would be to modify the information so that it matches with the current experience. If the old launch experience is nearing the end of its life, then the documentation that describes the old launch experience should be updated to describe the new launch experience. Unfortunately, I don't know either the old experience or the new experience.
