I will be working on this issue.
@vrushti-mody Sounds good. Pls keep in mind - this is aggregated issue, containing more than 300 smaller issues. I would suggest select initially couple smaller issues and start working on them.
6/05/20 - Report on latest broken links is here
Hi @vsilverman
Can I please contribute here?
Also, can you please share where is this code to be fixed (I am a newbie in github world, so asking).
Looking forward. Thanks!
Hi @contactsaurabh , this is an aggregated issue, containing quite a few (currently over 100) smaller items. I would suggest taking the following steps:
- contact @vrushti-mody, who was assigned to #3335, and discuss possibility of splitting the issues.
- explore Newcomers Doc Contribution, it has most directions
- go line by line thru attached PDF report and click on URL links, get the page with the problem and try to fix it
I would be glad to help you along the way if you'll need any assistance. Thanks again fr your desire to contribute.
Let me CC it with @MarkEWaite in case he wants to correct me.
Sure @vsilverman
Hi @vrushti-mody , Can you please guide me here and let me know if I can contribute in this issue to fix some of the broken links.
Looking forward. Thanks!
There is no update on this. @vrushti-mody
@contactsaurabh since I don't see any open pull request from @vrushti-mody, you're welcome to start the work.
As a way to reduce the chance of conflict between your efforts and those of others, you might start at the end of the list of broken links and work upward. Alternately, you might start in the middle and work downwards.
I assign GitHub issues to individuals as a way to make it easier for me to search issues which have not started any effort. The assignment of an issue to a person does not block others from working on the same issue, especially in the case of issues like this one which will probably need multiple pull requests to resolve the entire issue.

Hi @vsilverman Can I try to contribute here?
Yes @Samiatrix , you can contribute here. Follow the steps described by @vsilverman in https://github.com/jenkins-infra/jenkins.io/issues/3335#issuecomment-665125187
In the pdf what is the link in the first column for?
The last column gives us the error code the link is throwing.
While the "page where found" the fourth column gives us the page link where the url is broken.
What is the src in the fourth column for?
The first column is the URL that is not being found, as a clickable link. It is the same link as the text in the second column. That link is in the page that is in the url link.
The src link provides the source code of the page that the link checker used to search for broken links.
Hey @vsilverman, Hope you doing good man ;))
Can you please help me with how I can start contributing to this particular issue? Aur any update on which all broken links are fixed now?

@gounthar @vsilverman Any updates on this ?
@abhijeet007rocks8 you can create the list of broken links using https://www.npmjs.com/package/broken-link-checker -- just be aware that the number of GitHub links that can be checked in certain timeframe is limited and most GitHub links will be reported as broken for that reason
Hey @gounthar, i am working on the issue.Let me go through the documentation.Hope that i could be of any help.Thanks.
from the above documentation,i have tried to fix the issue of java error on jenkins.I have commented required changes there.Let's see if someone is still getting error after that.

Hey @MarkEWaite can you please take a look
Can anybody help me to understand this
In this file /sigs/cloud-native/pluggable-storage/#build-log-storage
The link in highlighted code is rendered as
https://plugins.jenkins.io/https://github.com/jenkinsci/postgresql-fingerprint-storage-plugin
But the correct is
https://github.com/jenkinsci/postgresql-fingerprint-storage-plugin
@PrathamAditya the correct syntax for links is link:https://..., or you can use the macro plugin:postgress-fingerprint-storage, looks like these two syntaxes got mixed up
@zbynek Thanks for the help fixed it 👌.
