search box text and results disappear when user hits down on keyboard

Describe the bug "when I type text into the search bar and then hit down to highlight a suggestion, it erases the text in the search box and doesn’t highlight the first suggestion"

Steps To Reproduce type text in search bar hit down on keyboard text is erased

the up key on keyboard also erases the text

Expected behavior hitting down on keyboard results in highlight of first suggestion
