No more playback sync with server after switching media

Describe the bug

If I start playing an item I get a progress bar, playback controls etc in the web UI and the Android client as expected. This also keeps working if I stop the playback or let it end completely and then start another, however If I switch to a new item while the first one is already playing this breaks. The new item plays OK, but there is no indication of this on the server side and no playback controls shown.

To Reproduce

  1. Start playing a video.
  2. Start playing another video, without stopping the first one.

Expected behavior

Playback controls and progress bar shown in e.g. the web client, for both videos.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Xubuntu 22.04
  • Version 2.2.0 (with server 10.8.3)

Error Messages (see log, no error messages but if I understand correctly it seems the shim is telling the server that playback stopped, I did not stop playing the second video in this log)
