Chromecast with .strm files

DUPE ISSUE https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-android/issues/137 At first I thought this was an issue with the android app as I wasn't able to test in a web browser. Now have confirmed it is an issue with Jellyfin not the app I believe the bug report belongs here.

Describe the bug

.strm files don't work on chromecast. Just a blank screen when casting.

To Reproduce Try to cast a .strm file.

Expected behavior

Logs none - jellyfin seems to think it plays fine.

System (please complete the following information):

• OS: [Ubuntu 18.04]
• Browser: [Chrome, Android app]
• Jellyfin Version: [10.3.2]

Additional context

I have tried via https (nginx reverse-proxy) http via ip:port It works using emby

I can confirm that this still happens.

I have jellyfin server 10.8 set up with SSL as required to get chromecast working.

I can verify that casting of library items that are .strm files is working, in all test cases here, the chromecast direct plays the url contained in the .strm file.
