Playback completely stops when VPN is enabled/disabled

Open 132ikl opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug When listening to a song, if you connect to/disconnect from a VPN (Windows native VPN in this case) playback stops completely and does not start again until you start playing a different song.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start playback of song
  2. Enable/disable VPN
  3. Wait for buffered audio to play, or skip ahead

Expected behavior If internet connection is restored before buffered audio has run out, playback shouldn't be affected. Otherwise, playback resumes as soon as connection is working again.

Screenshots If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

That's a weird case.. it's possible the player component is breaking when your connection breaks.

I tested myself using PIA VPN but this behavior does not occur. If you could check the browser console for errors that would be helpful (either build the app locally or use debugtron. The player component will be changing in 1.0.0 to a more robust one so that may fix it as well.
