osx virt-manager console screen is black

I just installed this, and it seemed to install without problem. However, when I run

virt-manager -c 'qemu+ssh://root@myser/system?socket=/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock'

All I see is a black screen for the booted VM. I tested this on many libvirt servers, all reporting black screens. This only happens in OSX.

I had an issue that appeared similar to this. Noticed that I was getting repeated prompts in the terminal for my password. Setup, keyless ssh between the client/server and it sprung into action. Hopefully this is the same for you.
