While I'm flattered by the implied offer, providing a donation button potentially creates a serious conflict of interest with my own students at Illinois.

Instead, let me suggest three other options:

• Buy a physical copy of the book. I earn $10 in royalties for each copy sold. (I do realize that buying anything from Amazon is difficult or impossible in many countries.)

• Donate a copy of the book to a local library. Because the book is not available through an traditional publisher, this may be the only way for the book to get into some libraries. I don't know if it is even possible for my university library to purchase a book from Amazon. (Again, I understand this is difficult in many parts of the world.)

• Support another charity or creator of your choice. If you need suggestions, I'm happy to recommend (in no particular order and not exclusively) Doctors without Borders, the Trevor Project, Comic Relief, the ACLU, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the Wikimedia Foundation, Creative Commons, Khan Academy, Numberphile, 3blue1brown, Contrapoints, Simone Giertz, Vi Hart, Bathsheba Grossman, Frank Howarth, Adam Neely, Alec Steele, and your favorite local espresso roaster or microbrewery. (Sorry that these are all American, or at least English-speaking, but then so am I.)
