Timeout kicks out all users, not authorized until service restart
Hi,
First of all, congrats on this amazing videoconference tool! I love using it daily.
I've faced an issue twice today for the first time, all users in the conference got kicked out simultaneously, a very short-lived "Timeout" message was displayed, and login was subsequently impossible with a "not authorized" message in the GUI. I restarted the galene service and it sorted things out.
My galene is hosted on a VPS, installed via Yunohost.
This issue is very incomplete because I'm at a complete loss of where to find logs for the application, if you can help me find those I'll investigate further and complete this issue with additional info. Service logs do not display anything instructive. /var/log contains no logs for the galene application.
Sorry to ask such a simple question...
Thanks for your help
Interesting. Wraparound in a timer? A clock being stepped?
Please comment further if you find more about how to reproduce the issue.
I'm at a complete loss of where to find logs for the application,
The service logs are all there is (Galene is designed to minimise logging in order to preserve user privacy). In particular, there should be more details in the service log about the cause of the not authorised message.
Here is an anonymized log starting Monday morning.
Server time is GMT. There are 4 restart events (2 on Monday, 2 on Tuesday) that I triggered manually to recover functionality.
Hmm, nothing useful in the log. It looks like I've missed some authentication failures, I'll add more explicit error messages.
Improved logging in fff2acf1f01c0892a886422bc3858ce1ff0ba2e9. I'm still stumped, though, the symptoms you're describing are very weird.
