truncate titles/links to X number of characters (show endings)

Made some improvements to handle this in https://github.com/jdrews/logstation/commit/bbd01e63d805993f8c44cad682af41de0f188975. But it's not enough. Need to implement text-overflow ellipsis and possibly reduce the left right padding on the navbar buttons.
