I think we can now safely close the issue.

The patient has been resuscitated, successfully through medical rehab, and is preparing to run a marathon now (see https://github.com/sktime/pytorch-forecasting/issues/1592 and https://github.com/sktime/pytorch-forecasting/issues/1736).
