Backups not being purged as expected

Open blacknell opened this issue 3 months ago • 3 comments

The problem

I have a 4 week cycle of backups (keeps 4 weekly full backups, 7 daily full backups and 8 intraday (3 hourly) partial backups.

I noticed a few weeks ago a load of older ones still in the backup directory (and HA listing). I manually removed them.

Now a few weeks later I have more from prior to the 4 week cycle. These are all generated from an automation. I don't use the built in HA back up process introduced a few months ago.

Something isn't right with the purge date tracking

I'm seeing this too. I've used the blueprint. Should I be specifying keep days (and how does that work for the different backup types such as weekly, monthly and yearly)?

To add I tried using purge in the developer tools but that didn't seem to remove anything.

Thinking a bit more, I "download" my backups to /share/auto_backups. I don't think there's anything that purges from there so I guess I need to create another automation to purge these?
