Backups not stored in correct location

Open PiperNigrum opened this issue 10 months ago • 4 comments

hey, thanks for the quick update. I've installed it on my rpi4 with haos. I set for the backup location my onedrive integration and with the buildin backup functionality it works to have the backup with the given name "Backup OneDrive" as filename in my onedrive share. But with your current release 1.8.1 the backup still stored under the backup folder of my local storage (rpi4) and with the slug as filename.

I'm not sure if I understand you guys correctly. both should now work?

Thanks

The settings for the built-in backup integration won't affect auto backup, those settings are only used for backups made "with automatic settings" enabled. You can set custom locations using the location option for the service (docs).

I haven't tested it with the onedrive/google drive locations yet but I believe it should work.

that means with auto backup I can't use the new function from the build-in backup mechanism? The filename is still the slug name and the external storage locations (one drive, google drive, synology) can't be use?

would be interested in this as well - I have connected my Synology DSM and would like to backup to this without having to add it as a network storage. Is there already a way to select these "new" backup locations?

The integrated backup still falls short and I am a big fan of Auto-Backup. But wanting to create an offsite backup it's not really an option to connect my NAS via SMB - so the Synology DSM integration would be a much better starting point

I'm also looking for this functionality I believe.

Just to clarify, recently HA added support for backup locations. It lets you configure backup providers. I'd like to be able to specify the backup location with auto-backup. It seems right now you can only specify network locations.
