macOS build
Shouldn't be too hard, see:
https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/GTK/OSX
The old gtk2 build system for nip2 is here:
https://github.com/jcupitt/build-osx
As a macOS user waiting for the homebrew package I'll hijack this issue to place here a wish to have some "visibility" features implemented. I mean ~~not only solve the problem on "viewing large images" but also "viewing image features that are hard to see", like having a button for auto-levels or scrolling between other approaches to improve visibility of such images, that for example have all numbers close to zeros, etc.~~
oh
You can select falsecolour and log-scale filters...
that's what I need so much.
There's a macOS homebrew formula here:
https://github.com/jcupitt/homebrew-core/commit/faae7e9568f49508316a60d6f70660b9f35b54a6
Though of course it's not a proper macOS .app. It does mostly work, though there seem to be some theming issues.
vipsdisp now has enough github stars to be accepted as a homebrew formula!
Unfortunately it now depends on some libvips 8.16 features, so this will need to wait for summer 2024.
